David G. Strom, Partner
David G. Strom’s practice focuses primarily on estate planning, post-death estate and trust administration, and small businesses representation. He also counsels clients in family settlement agreements, employment and business conflicts, and in both litigated and non-litigated contested matters related to trusts and wills and their taxation.
With extensive experience in church law, David has counseled both regional governing bodies and individual congregations for more than 30 years. His past civic commitments included serving on the board and as President of Thrive Counseling Center and as a Director and Chairman of Plymouth Place. David currently serves on the Board of McCormick Theological Seminary, Chicago.
David’s longstanding interest in estate law dates to a seminar course on the subject he took in law school. He began his career with a large Chicago firm, where he trained with a group of skilled, experienced estate planners. After three years he accepted an invitation from a former partner of that firm to form a two-man general practice firm in Oak Park, Illinois. There he learned to handle a wide variety of matters in addition to the field of estate planning. David joined a second large firm with an outstanding estate planning department, and stayed there for 18 years, first as an associate, then as a partner.
In 2000, David joined Hoogendoorn & Talbot as a partner. He takes pleasure in working with a group of remarkably skilled and dedicated men and women and providing his clients with the highest level of service possible.
